The 2018 Cross Country season is off and running! Brady Devine and Kirsten Taft have taken over the Cross Country team at Indian Creek High School.
They spent the summer building this program through summer training, team building and cross country camp. The team was able to spend a few days at eXplore Brown County where they stayed in cabins, trained hard, but were also able to have fun zip lining and bonding.
New coaches, a new training plan, and a strong summer have this team primed for a great season.
Coach Devine is happy to be back at Indian Creek, his alma mater. When asked why he wanted to coach cross country for The Creek he said, “I love to run, and am very excited to give back to where I went to high school. Also, (I want) to pass on everything I learned about the sport through my running career.”
Coach Taft started her coaching career last spring at Indian Creek during track season. The distance runners were happy to see her return for the fall running season.
This weekend is the first 5K meet for the Braves and Coach Devine is looking forward to it. “With everyone having a strong summer, I think they are in the best shape of their lives and should have new PRs,” Devine said.
Watch for exciting things this year from both your girls and boys ICHS Cross Country team as they have their hearts, and legs, set on some big goals!
