The Indiana Department of Education recently released 2021 Spring-Summer IREAD-3 statewide testing results. Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corporation finished with a 93.9% passing rate, the highest corporation-wide score in Johnson County.
"Indian Creek students and staff work diligently each year to develop strong reading skills in preparation for the IREAD-3 Assessment,” said Andrea Perry, Assistant Superintendent Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corporation, Indian Creek Schools. “The transition from learning to read onto reading to learn is pivotal for students and opens the door to an abundance of learning opportunities.”
IREAD-3 is a grade three reading assessment that measures foundational reading skills, including students’ ability to read and understand grade-level text. All grade three students currently enrolled in accredited Indiana schools, including English learners (ELs) and students with disabilities, must participate in IREAD-3.
“We are extremely proud of our students and staff for the success demonstrated on the Spring 2021 IREAD-3 Assessment, Perry said. “Additionally, we are very thankful to the families of our young Indian Creek students who continually make reading a priority at home to further encourage and support the development of reading skills."
